I had a coaching client tell me last week that she felt “off” and couldn’t figure out why. Not sick. Not sad, exactly. Just... off. Like she’d been replaced overnight by a slightly duller, slightly heavier version of herself, and nobody had told her the swap was happening.

If you run a Kingdom business, I’ll bet you’ve felt this too. I know I have. The vision that used to make you jump out of bed now feels like druggery. The new projects that used to light you up now feel like pushing a boulder through wet cement. And you start wondering if you missed a memo from God somewhere back in 2024.

Here’s what I want to say to you before we go any further: that heaviness is not a message about your faithfulness. It’s a message about your identity.

My friend Donna and I got into this on our podcast recently, and she told a story that I haven’t stopped thinking about since. Something happened with a loved one—nothing catastrophic, just one of those moments that catches you sideways—and over the next day and night she found herself, in her words, “tamped down.”
Not depressed.
Not in crisis.
Just... lowered.

Cooking dinner felt harder. Laundry felt harder. Creativity, as she put it, “left the scene.” She sat in it for a day and a night before a friend called out of nowhere with a word from the Lord, “Open your mouth, and I will fill it.” And even after she obediently spoke declarations, she woke up the next morning feeling exactly the same. Still blah. Still not herself.

And then it hit her—actually hit both of us, mid-conversation, in that way revelation does when you’re not trying to force it. She said, “I’m operating literally in a false identity right now. I am someone else.”

I said, “Exactly.”

Because that’s precisely what it is.

It’s not depression, it’s not sin, it’s not a spiritual failure. It’s an enemy who is absolutely terrified of who you actually are, working overtime to convince you that you’re someone smaller, someone duller, someone who checks out with a bag of chips and a Netflix queue instead of someone who rules and reigns. He uses trauma and even lesser negative events to piggyback a false identity on you.

Let’s start with who you actually are, because AI cannot touch this one.

You are a Son. Not gender—position. Inheritor of the very throne of God.

You were designed, personally, by the Creator of the universe, before the foundations of the earth were laid, with a mandate that no algorithm anywhere could replicate if it trained for a thousand years. You can ask ChatGPT to write your marketing copy. You cannot ask it to carry your identity, because it doesn’t have one, and you do. Every skill you have, every strange combination of gifts that makes your business uniquely yours, was hand-assembled by a Creator who already knew the exact shape of the problem you’d be solving before you were born to solve it.

That’s not a nice sentiment for a devotional. That’s the actual architecture of why you exist as a business owner in the first place.

And here’s where most Kingdom CEOs get stuck: they know this in their head, and then a Tuesday happens, and the head-knowledge evaporates like it was never there. The bills come due. The launch flops. A team member quits. A relative says something offhand that lands wrong. And suddenly you’re negotiating with a lesser version of yourself, wondering if maybe you were wrong about all of it—the calling, the business, the whole “seated in heavenly places” thing that sounded so good in the sermon but feels like theory when your calendar is on fire.

This is where authority comes in, and it’s not the kind of authority you’re picturing.

I’m not talking about hustle-harder authority or “just believe it into existence” authority. I’m talking about the fact that you are, biblically and legally in the spirit realm, a co-heir with Christ, seated with Him, ruling and reigning—which means the low, foggy, someone-else version of you that shows up on the hard days does NOT outrank you. It just acts like it does, because nobody told it to sit down.

Donna made a comment that I loved so much I wrote it down mid-recording: most of us have spent years batting the enemy away instead of putting our throne over him and putting him under our feet. We flick the spider instead of smashing it. We buffet the air—Scripture’s actual word for shadowboxing—instead of landing the blow, and the enemy doesn’t even have to work hard, because he’s got us running in circles thinking we’re winning a fight we haven’t fully engaged.

Authority means you stop negotiating with the fog and start asking a much better question: whose throne is this, actually?

Because in my experience—and in the experience of basically every client I’ve ever worked with—that heaviness is rarely random. It’s usually sitting exactly on top of one specific area where something other than you has quietly climbed onto the throne you fell out of. Maybe it’s unbelief about money. It could be pride masquerading as shyness, playing small. Maybe it’s fear around a launch. Maybe it’s old unforgiveness that’s been running the show in your relationships for so long you forgot it wasn’t you. You don’t have to fix your whole life to deal with this. You just have to find the one throne that got vacated and go sit back down on it, on purpose, out loud.

Which brings us to perspective—because you cannot govern territory you’re only looking at from ground level.

Here’s the piece that trips people up: you are simultaneously down here in the mess and seated up there in heavenly places, and you’re allowed—actually required—to operate from both at once. When you’re stuck in the fog, everything looks like a permanent verdict on your business, your calling, your worth. From heaven’s vantage point, it’s a Tuesday. It’s a skirmish, not the war. Ephesians is very clear that you’re not wrestling flesh and blood, which means the client who ghosted you, the launch that flopped, the sudden wave of exhaustion—none of that is actually final data about your destiny. It’s just weather at ground level, and you were never meant to govern from ground level.

This is why I always tell my clients that the fastest way out of the fog isn’t more strategy. It’s finding out what Yahweh says about a thing, and opening your mouth to make your words line up with His word. Not complaining out loud—that just narrates the fog back to yourself in stereo. I mean actually speaking from the throne: naming what’s true, repenting quickly if you’ve made agreements with the wrong voice, and then declaring what Heaven already knows about your business, out loud, with your voice, because your words are doing something in the spirit whether you’re paying attention to that or not. Donna’s phrase for it was blunt and I love it: “I have some business to do here, I have some change of mind to do.” That’s not soft. That’s a king taking inventory of his own territory.

So here’s what I want you sitting with today, CEO.

The version of you that’s stuck, stagnant, and unsure if you missed God’s plan somewhere along the way—that’s not actually you. That’s you operating out of a throne someone else climbed onto while you were distracted managing the business instead of governing it. The real you was seated before the world began, uniquely designed in a way no machine will ever replicate, and given authority that doesn’t evaporate just because this particular season feels heavy.

So which throne have you quietly stepped down from—and are you ready to climb back up and tell it exactly who’s actually sitting there now?

When Christians talk about the gifts of the Spirit, there’s usually a crowd gathered around prophecy. Everybody’s excited about healing. Words of knowledge get a standing ovation.

But interpretation of tongues? The ninth gift—the one Paul himself lists at the end of 1 Corinthians 12? People kind of shuffle past it like it’s the dusty back corner of the spiritual gift shop. Mostly because it doesn’t “happen” to them, so they think it’s not real.

5-Day Tongues for Business Challenge

Laura Babeliowsky, a Dutch business coach with over 20 years of experience, noticed the same thing. When she first received the gift of tongues, she was thrilled—and then immediately frustrated. Like her peers, she could speak in tongues, but nobody around her seemed the slightest bit interested in figuring out what they were actually saying.

“Nobody could help me with that,” she told our masterclass. “I also noticed that people were not interested at all to learn what they were saying.”

She was baffled. She went back to YouTube. She found a video on how to interpret tongues. She practiced. And then, as she put it, “a whole world opened for me.”

That world? It started showing up in her business in ways she never expected.

Let’s Build the Biblical Foundation First

Jesus himself, in Mark 16:15-17, is wrapping up his time on earth. He gives the “Great Commission” (all commands He gives are great, but I digress…)—go, preach the gospel to every creature—and then lists the signs that will follow those who believe. Right there in his final instructions, sandwiched between casting out demons and laying hands on the sick:

“They shall speak with new tongues.”

This is not a footnote. This is part of our mandate as His ambassadors on the earth. Jesus put it there himself.

Then Paul, who said plainly in 1 Corinthians 14:18, “I speak in tongues more than you all”—then proceeds to walk us through the full landscape of what tongues are and what they do in chapters 12 through 14 of that letter.

And what does he find? Complexity. Nuance. Different kinds of tongues, which begs the investigation…what do the different types do? What are they meant to be used for?

The Different Kinds of Tongues (This Is Where People Get Confused)

Dr. Faisal Malick and Beverley Watkins spend a whole episode unpacking this on their podcast, and it’s worth following their logic closely, because this is where a lot of the controversy—and missed opportunity—comes from. Here is a little of what they talked about:

• Tongues of men—supernatural ability to speak a human language you haven’t learned. Think Acts 2, where the disciples spoke in the native languages of people from all over the known world. These are languages with a human audience in mind.

• Tongues of angels—referenced in 1 Corinthians 13:1. A language that only angels understand. Paul mentions it almost in passing, but it’s there: there is a tongue that is beyond human origin entirely.

• Private prayer language—this is 1 Corinthians 14:2: “For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.” This is the personal hotline. God understands it. Nobody else does. Not angels, not other people, not even you…at least not without interpretation. It’s encrypted by design.

• The gift of tongues—this is different from your personal prayer language. The gift of tongues, per 1 Corinthians 12, is the Holy Spirit speaking through you to an audience. It operates as the Holy Spirit wills, not as you will. You can’t switch it on. Think of Beverley’s story of an American woman who stood up in a South African meeting and spoke flawless Dutch—a language she didn’t know—with a message for the whole room.

The confusion that’s plagued the church for generations comes from collapsing all of these into one category and then arguing about the one category. As Dr. Malick put it: “All confusion occurs when people are not understanding that there are different kinds of supernatural tongues.”

So What Does This Have to Do with Your Business?

Everything.

Laura’s breakthrough came when she stopped just speaking tongues and started interpreting them. That ninth gift—the one gathering dust in the corner—turned out to be the key to everything else.

Here’s what she found, working with her colleague Monique in their Dutch business coaching practice: when they would speak in tongues together and then listen for interpretation, the Lord would give them new angles for their marketing, new ideas for their newsletters.

She was in a crowded market with lots of competitors. She needed a competitive edge. The edge came from heaven, through tongues, through interpretation.

“It was really special on many layers,” she said.

For the Tech Geeks

Here’s how I think about it, because I come from a techy, practical place.

Tongues is like an API.

An API—Application Programming Interface—is the connector between two totally different systems. If you have an e-commerce website and you need to accept payment, you need an API to connect your site to the payment gateway. Without it, those two systems can’t talk to each other.

Your business operates in the physical world: team, inventory, marketing, sales, decisions. Heaven already has the framework for your business destiny. But those two systems need a connection point.

Tongues is the API.

It’s the interface where heaven and earth meet. Where your physical business challenges can be handed over to a God who already knows the answers—and where his wisdom can flow back down to you in a form you can actually act on.

That’s not woo. That’s infrastructure.

5-Day Tongues for Business Challenge

A lot of people ask me, “What is Spiritual Business Coaching?” when I tell them what I do.

Great question! (So glad you asked.)

It’s actually way easier to show you than to tell you, but since I can’t show you, I’ll give ‘er a go with words.

The very short version is…we look at your business from God’s perspective, get His direction on what actually needs to happen, and legislate His will into the situation. It looks different every time.

I’ve been doing this long enough that I’ve picked up a LOT of tips, tools & strategies on how to navigate the dimensional shift between the spiritual and the practical, and I’m pretty good at it. (I actually don’t know what I’m doing…I just do what I see Father doing. Trade secret.)

The Lord has also shown me how important operating within the government of His Kingdom is. So getting your legal paperwork is very important to establishing your authority to conduct trade, or commerce across territories. (Think Nehemiah rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem.)

So, while our coaching session was supposed to be about establishing his business in heaven, we followed the Lord’s agenda instead.

1. THE SITUATION

Robert came into the session with a high-stakes pitch meeting the very next morning—a potential client he described as:

“Very important… what could be unlocked through this client would be… very big.”

His question wasn’t about strategy—he had prepared thoroughly. His question was how to practically apply spiritual technology and govern the meeting from his throne in heaven. (Bringing Father’s will from heaven to the earth while seated in heavenly places.)

2. THE SOLUTION

• Discussed how to stay simultaneously present on earth and seated in heavenly places

  • → Introduced Robert to the technology of his throne—mobile, (God’s throne was compared to a chariot) a seat of both authority and rest.

  • → Reassured him that his spirit could remain in the driver’s seat (as opposed to soul running the show) even in a high-pressure boardroom.

  • → Robert received it immediately: “If you sit on your throne of authority and rest… that frequency exudes from you. Puts other people at rest. Puts other people at confidence in your authority.”
    

• Identified a specific meeting coming the next morning

  • → Coached Robert to receive the scroll for the meeting before he arrived—downloading from heaven the scope of what God intended to happen, so it could flow from inside him rather than from his own striving.

  • → He understood: “I should eat the scroll, so that when I’m in the meeting, the scroll is in me, and it gets spoken out.”
    

• Recommended that Robert arrive early to the hired boardroom

  • → Instructed him to anoint it (physically if possible), and in the spirit realm: breathe the Father’s breath into the room, cover it with the frequency of heaven, seal every door and window with the blood of Jesus so nothing not of God could enter.

  • → Anchored the Kingly posture: bound Robert’s mind to the Mind of Christ, see every person in the room the way God sees them, and allow no fear, doubt, or unworthiness to enter—not the room, not himself.

3. THE RESULT (Two weeks later)

Robert came back to report what happened—and it had cascaded far beyond the single meeting:

The meeting itself:

“I laid my hands on the table, and in the Spirit, I unrolled the scroll, and I said, “Everyone who sits at this table shall read the scroll, hear the scroll, and receive the vision of the scroll.””

“We ended up having a 3-hour meeting… they not only wanted to give us everything that I’d laid out in the scroll, they said, “By the way, can you also do this and this?” So we got that and more.”

The flood that followed:

“The Lord gave me this word: the floodgates are about to open. Start getting ready to expand.”

“The amount of work that started coming from that was more than we could handle with the team that I’m working with. We had to now scramble to recruit additional resources… and it just hasn’t stopped since then.”

“Within the same week of getting this new client, the project that had been stuck for 2 years… got signed. The second one is imminently about to be signed.”

Overflow: The volume of work became more than Robert could simply consult into—it required structure. He went to propose a partnership to his colleague:

“When we sat down to talk, my colleague said, before you say anything, Robert—I’ve been thinking about it. I want us to partner together. So I didn’t even have to say anything—the Lord just handled it.”

“Now we’re at the verge—out of necessity—we have to set up a new company, a joint venture type of special purpose vehicle, where my company and his company now… it’s just going off, and I haven’t been able to even catch my breath since then.”

The Joseph moment: A client called from China at midnight their time, offering Robert’s team the prime contract—design authority, managing all other contracts, second only to the client themselves:

“That just immediately reminded me of the Joseph prophecy… Pharaoh said to Joseph, only in my throne shall I be higher than you.”

Where the team stood two weeks later:

“These guys that had asked me to join them in their winter season of drought—they can’t believe this. They’re saying this has never happened to them before. It feels like people are just throwing work at them, and they can’t even catch all of it.”

“I’ve literally been working 10-12 hour days just to try and steady all of this, and things are moving at a very high velocity at the moment.”

“I don’t know what happened from eating that scroll and releasing it into that meeting, but… it is exploding. Praise the Lord.”

Update as of this Article:

Robert actually had to postpone his next coaching session because he was too busy! We might have to break off fear of doing spiritual business coaching because it releases too much favor…

As you can imagine, she has a lot of spinning plates in her life. And she came to a session with me in the middle of a hard season, looking for answers—the way high-capacity people always do—through effort, analysis, and sheer force of will.

What shifted for her in that session wasn’t just strategy. It was a perspective.

And perspective, it turns out, changes everything.

The Kingdom Is Not Out There. It’s Already In You.

Jesus said it plainly:

“The Kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed… for behold, the Kingdom of God is within you.”—Luke 17:20-21

The Kingdom isn’t a destination you travel to. It’s a reality already present within you—the life of Christ, the mind of Christ, the authority of Christ—available right now, in the middle of whatever you’re facing.

The problem isn’t that you haven’t been taught how to access it.

Not in church…and certainly not in business school!

Most of us—even deeply spiritual, genuinely praying people—default to looking at our circumstances from the battlefield. We see the problem at eye level. We react, we analyze, we pray from the place of urgency, and we carry the weight of outcomes that were never ours to carry in the first place.

What I do as a spiritual coach is help leaders raise their perspective to what’s already inside them: the seated-in-heavenly-places reality that Paul describes in Ephesians 2:6, available to every believer right now.

“God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.”

That seat is not metaphor. It is a spiritual position—one that gives you a different vantage point on everything you’re walking through. Not escape from the hard thing. (Yeshua often calls us to do the very hardest thing!) But a different lens on it.

The lens of the Mind of Christ.

Four Questions That Govern From the Inside Out

When I facilitate this kind of session, I’m not doing the work for my clients. I’m helping them access what their human spirit, which is connected to Holy Spirit—living inside them—already knows.

We bring the situation before Jesus and ask four questions. They are simple, yet extraordinarily powerful when you actually stop and ask them instead of defaulting to your own analysis.

1. What do I need to know about this?

Before strategy. Before action. Before anything. What does Yeshua see that you don’t?

The Mind of Christ has access to information your natural mind doesn’t. Not because God is withholding it—but because the ground-floor perspective has a limited view. When you raise your perspective to the Kingdom reality within you, you get different information. Suzy received clarity in that session she could not have generated through observation or analysis alone—about what was actually driving her situation, what she had agreed to that she didn’t know she’d agreed to, and what her actual assignment was in this season.

Clarity is one of the great mercies of the Kingdom. And it is always available to those who ask.

2. What do I need to repent of or renounce?

This is not guilt work. This is legal work.

The court of heaven operates on agreement. What you agree with has authority in your life—for good or for otherwise. When Suzy raised her Kingdom perspective and asked this question honestly, she received a very specific list: the places she had partnered with fear instead of faith, control instead of trust, judgment instead of intercession. Each one was a doorway she could close—not through willpower, but through repentance that actually lands in the spirit, not just the mind.

1 John 1:9 is not a formality. It is a legal instrument that changes the spiritual architecture of a situation.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

3. What is the Father’s will here?

Jesus modeled this in Gethsemane: “Not my will, but yours.” It is the hinge question of the Kingdom-minded leader.

Suzy asked it plainly about her situation. And the answer she received was not what she expected. It wasn’t a resolution. It was a release. She was invited to stop trying to force an outcome that belonged to God, and instead to trust—actively, intentionally, at real cost to her sense of control.

For a high-capacity leader, this is often the hardest part. We are wired to solve. The Kingdom asks us to govern—which sometimes means holding a position of trust while the Father works.

4. How do I bring justice to this situation and give Him glory?

This is where the perspective shifts from passive to active—but active from a completely different posture than striving.

From the Kingdom perspective within you, you are not a victim of your circumstances. You are an authorized representative of the King in your sphere. That means you have the ability—and the responsibility—to declare, to establish, to cancel what the enemy has filed against you, and to bring the life of heaven into the dead places on earth.

This is governing. And it is available to every believer.

What Happened in Suzy’s Body

Here is the part that tends to stop people.

Suzy had been carrying the weight of her season in her body—visibly, physically. It was crippling her back. That’s not unusual. What we refuse to release in the spirit, the body holds.

A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.—Proverbs 17:22

Toward the end of our session, as Suzy genuinely released something she had been gripping—not because she wanted to, but because she chose to trust the Father—her back popped spontaneously.

Her words: “My back never pops…and it just popped! Something is releasing.”

The body follows the spirit. When we come into agreement with truth, the physical often responds. Not always dramatically. But often more than we expect, because we so rarely actually do the deep release work in the spirit.

This is not a formula. It is a fruit.

What Suzy Left With

She came in carrying a heavy situation, looking for answers.

She left with one assignment—her words:

“Be My disciple.” (She has been watching The Chosen so this was particularly poignant.)

Not just a strategy. Not just a plan. A call back to true identity.

And a promise she received directly: that the season she was in would end. She repeated it three times, out loud, deliberately—not as a wish, but as a declaration:

“Lord, you said it will end. You said it will end. You said it will end.”

That is a woman governing from the Kingdom reality inside her.

Not striving. Not white-knuckling. Governing.

The Daniel Moment That Started It All

In Daniel 10, an angel appears to deliver an answer to Daniel’s prayer—but he explains he was held up for 21 days, battling the Prince of Persia in the second heaven realm before Michael came to break him through.

Here’s what’s striking: Daniel’s prayer went up immediately. His channel was clear. But the answer had to fight its way back through enemy territory.

🔑 Your authority can leak. It’s like a hole in a bucket. You keep pouring in—faith, declarations, prayer—but something keeps draining it out. Bloodline iniquity, word curses, inner vows, agreements with the wrong side—these are open doors. Identifying and closing them is exactly what we do in our Breakthrough sessions. 🔑 Watch what you own. In the session, someone mentioned praying against “my diabetes” and “my asthma.” That small word—my—makes an illness part of your identity. Client Breakthrough: Moving a Control Trigger

Recently, I worked with a client who was experiencing significant stress, anxiety, fear and frustration surrounding a legal situation.

As part of a lawsuit, she was required to open her financial records to outside attorneys and other parties. There was nothing inappropriate in the records. She wasn’t hiding anything and wasn’t doing anything wrong. Yet the thought of someone else having access to information she considered private created intense feelings of violation and betrayal.

As we explored the situation with the Lord, the root issue became clear: control.

Her immediate response was, “Control is my thing.”

Rather than trying to tackle every area of control in her life, we focused on this single trigger. We worked through the underlying lies, beliefs, agreements, and spiritual structures that were supporting the emotional reaction.

Once those structures were removed, we tested the breakthrough through role play. I presented different scenarios related to the lawsuit and the financial disclosures and asked her to pay attention to what was happening internally.

Did she still feel tension?
Did she still feel anxiety?
Did she still experience an emotional reaction in her body?
Or could she remain at peace?

We continued working with the Lord until the emotional charge was gone. Eventually, she reached a place where she could think about the situation without feeling threatened, violated, or anxious.

What she discovered was powerful.

The strongest position was not maintaining control.

The strongest position was being free from the need to control.

Her power position was peace.

Nothing about the external circumstances changed. The court order still existed. The financial records still had to be disclosed. The situation itself remained exactly the same.

She was the one who changed.

And that changed everything.

The good news is that triggers can be healed.

The enemy doesn’t always need to stop your destiny. Sometimes he only needs to keep you reacting.

Every unresolved trigger has the potential to drain energy, cloud discernment, create unnecessary stress, and reduce your effectiveness in the areas God has called you to influence.

When we identify the root issue, remove the lies and false agreements, and replace them with truth, we become more effective in carrying out our assignments. We operate with greater peace, greater authority, and greater alignment with Heaven’s perspective.

There’s a moment Nichole had that most Christian business owners know but rarely talk about. She was lying awake, carrying that quiet, persistent ache that something was missing in their business. Why You Feel Stuck (And Why It Isn’t a Strategy Problem)

If you’re a business owner or CEO who loves God and still feels like you’re running through quicksand—doing all the right things, putting in the work, praying over it—and you still hit walls you can’t explain, you are not alone. And you are not crazy. And it is probably not your marketing funnel.

Here’s what’s actually happening: you are carrying a kingdom-level assignment and trying to execute it with culture-level tools.

As long as you’re building the way everybody else builds—following the gurus, implementing the best practices, then asking God to bless it—you’re essentially building on Babylon’s blueprint and praying for heaven’s results. He might bless it anyway because He’s gracious like that. But there’s a more aligned way. A clearer channel. And Nicole and Dial’s story is a perfect picture of what it looks like when someone steps into it.

They Didn’t Wait for Permission to Build Differently

Most people hear “establish your business in heaven” and either think it’s too mystical to be practical or too out-there to bring up at church. Dial and Nicole heard it from God, did a quick search for confirmation, and got moving. That’s the thing about divine revelation—it tends to feel weird right up until it doesn’t.

That’s not hustle-culture bravado. That’s someone who received the destiny scroll from heaven, and understands that going into business as a believer looks like a declaration of war in the spirit realm. The enemy has been occupying that market. You’re saying, not anymore. The moment you understand that framing, the resistance you’ve been experiencing makes a lot more sense—and so does the strategy to overcome it.

The Three Things You’re Leaving on the Table

There’s a framework at the heart of what made Nicole and Dial’s shift so significant. It’s built on three pillars that, when functioning together, change everything about how you build.

Identity. Everything expressed in your business flows out of who you believe you are at your core. Not who you say you are—who you actually, subconsciously believe you are. The enemy works on agreement. If he whispers “you’re not enough” and you think, “I’m not enough”, that agreement gets written on your heart, and even into the foundation of your business. You end up with ceilings you can’t push through, energy you can’t sustain, and a business that secretly behaves like a teenager in arrested development—rebelling, losing deals, attracting betrayal, watching finances get devoured in cycles. (Yes, that is a real thing that happens to real businesses. One client saw $160,000 in favor released within days of cleaning up the identity of her business and breaking those agreements.)

The truth is, you are not just a child of God. You are a son—an inheritor. You are a king, and your business is your kingdom. You are a priest. Operating out of a counterfeit identity means operating at a fraction of your actual authority, and it will show up in your business before it shows up anywhere else.

Authority. Once your identity is clear, you need to know how to use it. Watching competitors cut corners and get ahead while you hold just weights and scales is not just frustrating—it’s an injustice you can actually bring before the heavenly court. The kingdom is a government. The Bible is full of legal language. You have standing to legislate from heavenly places. Most believers were never taught this in church, so they end up tolerating what they could be confronting. The little foxes spoil the vine not through dramatic assaults but through accumulated, unanswered, small-scale harassment that slowly gnaws at everything you’re building.

Heavenly Perspective. This is the seat you need to occupy before you do anything else. Jesus only did what He saw the Father doing—He looked first, then moved. Coming to the Lord with your coffee every morning and asking “what’s on the scroll for today?” is not a cute spiritual practice. It is the most practical thing you can do for your bottom line. Your spirit was in Him before the foundations of the earth. You were built with spiritual senses. The question isn’t whether you have access to heavenly intelligence—it’s whether you’re actually using it when you’re pressing in for your business.

The Operating System God Already Gave You

Here’s the moment in the masterclass that stopped everyone in their tracks. After the three pillars were laid out, I started to explain how these work together as an operating system.

Nichole dropped this in the chat: the revelation God gave her the night before He led her to the YouTube video was that they needed to “upgrade their operating system.”

She hadn’t heard the teaching yet. God gave her the framing first, and then led her to the confirmation.

You can’t make this stuff up! Crazy!

When all three pillars—identity, authority, and heavenly perspective—are functioning together, you have an operating system the world doesn’t have access to. You have a competitive edge that no guru can teach and no algorithm can replicate. You are not building the way everyone else builds. You are building against the grain, and the grain you’re building against is Babylon’s.

You Are Stronger Than You Know

Here’s what’s true whether you feel it right now or not: you are stronger, bigger, bolder, and more called than you have been operating as. The Lord has an extraordinary assignment on your life. What needs to happen is not another strategy pivot—it’s clearing out the lies, the agreements, the word curses, the fear-based foundations, and the arrested-development places that have been limiting your expression of who He says you are.

That’s what Dial and Nicole stepped into. Not a formula—a framework rooted in intimacy with the Father, held up by identity, authority, and heavenly access, and expressed in a business that carries His presence into the world.

Every once in a while, I have a conversation on the Spirit-Centered Business™ podcast that stays with me long after the recording ends. Not because it was merely inspiring, but because it reframed something foundational.

My interview with Todd Weatherly was one of those conversations. In fact it was so good, I’ve created an action guide and teaching around it.

If you are a business owner who has spent years building, praying, pressing in, learning, investing, and still feeling as though something invisible keeps resisting forward movement, this teaching will probably resonate more deeply than you expect.

What struck me most was that Todd wasn’t talking about breakthrough in the vague, motivational sense that Christian entrepreneurs often hear. He was describing actual mechanics—the internal dynamics that either position a person to receive breakthrough or keep them trapped in cycles of striving, discouragement, and spiritual exhaustion.

And honestly, I think many leaders have never been taught this.

When God Gives You a Word… But Nothing Moves

Todd shared the story of a season in his twenties when he felt profoundly stuck. He had received what he believed was a clear word from God to become a professional tennis coach. The direction itself was specific. The problem was that nothing seemed to be working.

Financial pressure mounted.
Cash flow was inconsistent.
Debt accumulated.

Externally, there was very little evidence that the word was producing fruit.

That tension alone is familiar to many entrepreneurs.

There is a particular kind of frustration that comes when you genuinely believe God has called you into something, yet your external reality appears to contradict it. Most people respond by working harder, pushing harder, or anxiously searching for the next strategy.

What Todd began realizing, however, was that the real battle was not external first.

As he said during the interview:

“The work wasn’t the business. The work was internal.”

(I was jumping out of my skin on the inside screaming “YES!”)

Because so many business owners are trying to create external momentum while internally carrying agreement with fear, hopelessness, striving, scarcity, disappointment, or exhaustion.

Even highly capable leaders can unknowingly operate from internal structures that continually sabotage their ability to receive what they are praying for.

The Part Nobody Talks About: Resistance Gets Louder First

Todd described immersing himself in scripture for hours each day, meditating deeply on passages about faith, provision, and the nature of God. One scripture in particular confronted him: Mark 11, where Jesus speaks about believing you have already received before you see manifestation.

What followed was not instant victory.

In fact, Todd said the process initially became more uncomfortable.

The more he intentionally thanked God and meditated on breakthrough, the more internal resistance seemed to surface. Thoughts of failure intensified. Accusations grew louder. Doubt pushed back aggressively against what he was trying to establish internally.

That part of the conversation felt deeply important to me because many people interpret resistance as evidence that something is not working.

In reality, resistance is often evidence that something is shifting. Most breakthrough processes involve confrontation long before they involve manifestation. And I think a lot of business owners quit in that middle space.

The Real Shift Happened Before the Circumstances Changed

Eventually, after weeks of intentionally renewing his mind and refusing to partner with hopelessness, something changed. Todd described it as moving from intellectual effort into genuine internal conviction. He no longer felt as though he was trying to persuade himself.

He knew.

And almost immediately afterward, circumstances shifted externally. A connection was made through a woman who ran a tennis club, and his business rapidly expanded.

What fascinated me was not simply the testimony itself, but Todd’s interpretation of it. He did not describe it as God finally deciding to bless him after weeks of begging. He described it as a change in his own capacity to receive.

That distinction matters.

Many business owners spend years waiting for external conditions to align while never realizing that breakthrough often begins with internal realignment first.

Why Focus Is Becoming a Competitive Advantage

One statement from Todd has stayed with me:

“Sustained focus creates momentum. Momentum creates breakthrough.”

At first glance, that sounds simple. But when you consider the level of fragmentation most leaders live under today, it becomes incredibly significant. We are constantly interrupted—mentally, emotionally, digitally, spiritually.

Fear cycles.
Notifications.
Pressure.
Comparison.
Financial stress.
Reaction mode.

Most entrepreneurs are attempting to build vision while living with internally scattered attention.

You cannot bypass the process of learning how to navigate your own inner world.

Burnout Isn’t Always About Overwork

We often use “Destiny Scrolls”, or “Books of Destiny” as a prophetic language for divine assignment and purpose because that’s the reference in the old testament. Whether or not someone is familiar with that terminology, the underlying principle is powerful:

Every person must learn how to discern what they were actually designed to build.

Not merely what is profitable.
Not merely what is available.
Not merely what looks successful from the outside.

But what aligns with their genuine assignment.

That distinction becomes increasingly important as leaders mature because burnout is not always caused by overwork. Sometimes it comes from building outside of alignment for too long.

And I think many business owners intuitively know this, even if they have never had language for it before.

“Do Not Magnify the Season”

Toward the end of our conversation, Todd said something that I believe many business owners need to hear right now:

“Do not magnify the season. Magnify the Lord.”

In uncertain times, leaders can become consumed with reacting to conditions around them—the economy, culture, politics, algorithms, instability, competition, fear.

But whatever consistently occupies your attention eventually shapes your internal world, and your internal world ultimately influences everything you build.

That is why this conversation still feels timely to me.

Not because it offers simplistic formulas or motivational hype, but because it addresses the deeper internal realities that often determine whether a person remains stuck or finally moves forward with clarity, authority, and momentum. It also deeply resonates with the work I do with business owners every day.

Part 1: What Is a Destiny Scroll?

I think what I’ll do is make this a series because I could go through all of the parts of my book, Discover Your Business Destiny: Co-Creating, Stewarding, and Standing to Manifest God’s Divine Plan.

I’m perfectly happy to do it that way if that’s what you guys want. I’m also happy to just go where you are and move with the speed that you’re moving. If you already know something, I don’t need to cover it again, or maybe I’ll cover it briefly for those who are watching the recording later.

My thought is that potentially I can do a series for those of you who are paid members, and we’ll do it inside the membership. You guys can be on with me live on Zoom, and then we’ll put the recordings inside the membership.

So first of all:

What Is a Destiny Scroll?

I’m so glad you asked.

I use the word scroll because that’s how things were written down in biblical times. But you can think about it as a book. I’ve also had people perceive theirs as a device that opened up, almost like a tablet or notebook computer they could scroll through and read.

Most people see it as a scroll or a book.

But let’s ground this in Scripture.

Psalm 139 and the Blueprint of Your Life

“All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be.” — Psalm 139:16

“All your days” includes everything you’re going to do. If you’re called to business, it includes your business destiny scroll.

Another way I think about the scroll is that you either have multiple scrolls or multiple books, kind of like an encyclopedia set. Remember those old encyclopedia subscriptions where they mailed you one volume every month until eventually you had the whole set on your shelf?

Your scroll can look like that.

Different chapters of your life, different seasons, different assignments, different areas of responsibility—business, marriage, parenting, ministry—can all be separate “books” within the greater story God wrote for your life.

Your business has a scroll.
Your marriage has a scroll.
Each of your children has a scroll.

And honestly, I would absolutely receive those scrolls from the Lord by faith for your children.

The Bible says:

“Train up a child in the way he should go…”

But how do you know the way he should go unless you understand how he was designed and what was written about him before he was born?

Jeremiah 1:5 says God knew you before He formed you.

Your destiny precedes your birth.

God knew what business He called you to before you ever knew you’d be in business. He designed you to handle everything required for the assignment.

Everything Is Recorded

Any scroll you’re looking at—whether it’s your overall destiny, your business, your marriage, your children, or even a specific project—contains heavenly intention.

Everything has a scroll.
Everything is written in heaven.

The Bible even says the hairs on your head are numbered.

Everything is recorded.

And of course, the enemy does the opposite. There are counterfeit identities, false accusations, and lies written against people in the kingdom of darkness. That’s where counterfeit identities come from. Childhood wounds, trauma, rejection, abandonment, fear—those things become overlays on the heart.

But the Lord’s truth says:

• You are beloved.

• You are chosen.

• You are a son or daughter.

• You are treasured.

• You are not abandoned.

• You are not an orphan.

• You are not a slave.

Those truths are part of your original design.

And the same is true for your business.

God designed you for the work He called you to do.

Your Business Assignment Is Not Random

Business is too hard to do without calling.

It requires too much energy, too much sacrifice, too much responsibility to build something meaningful unless the Lord actually called you to it.

Now, we can step into counterfeit destinies or build businesses outside our assignment. That happens all the time.

But your scroll contains:

• your mandate

How I Began Discovering My Own Mandate

Let me walk you through how I discovered mine.

I left corporate in 2009. I had gone to school for architecture and worked with architects and construction firms. I wasn’t a licensed architect, but I worked as an owner’s rep hiring architects for some of the largest construction projects in the United States, including government projects.

So architecture, building, blueprints, systems, functionality—all of that has always resonated deeply with me.

It was already on my scroll to be a builder.

When I left corporate, it was heartbreaking because I loved what I did. But eventually I started my business helping coaches and experts monetize the message on their heart and build businesses around their story and transformation.

That became my first book:

Planning to Profit: Architecting Your Unique Story Into a Business You Love.

At the time, so many people were jumping into random business models and network marketing opportunities that had nothing to do with who they actually were.

That broke my heart.

So the first part of my mandate became clear:

I went from building buildings to building people.

Then later, during a deep inner healing and identity process, another piece emerged:

I am called to release voices held captive by fear and doubt.

That made complete sense with the work I was already doing.

Helping people uncover their real story.
Helping them speak.
Helping them build.
Helping them step into visibility and influence.

Then in 2021, the Lord showed me another part of my mandate through Luke 11:23:

“Whoever does not gather with Me scatters.”

I had a vision of my hand sweeping across the globe, gathering back influence the Kingdom had lost.

And it broke my heart because the Body of Christ has abdicated influence in so many areas of culture.

So another part of my mandate became:

To reclaim and restore lost, stolen, traded away, or abandoned influence.

That’s my assignment.

And my business is the vehicle through which I execute that assignment.

Your business works the same way.

Mandate vs. Mission

Your scroll contains both your mandate and your mission.

Mandate

Your mandate is what you are called to do.

Mission

Your mission is how you fulfill it and who you serve.

Your scroll also contains vision.

Vision

Vision is the future state of your ideal business.

What does it look like?
How does it function?
What kind of impact does it make?
What atmosphere does it carry?

The mission is how you move toward that vision.

Co-Creating With God

One of the reasons I use the imagery of a quill pen is because God gives us partnership in the process.

He establishes the boundaries.
He designs the calling.
He reveals identity and assignment.

But then He invites us to create with Him.

It’s like being placed in a backyard with freedom to explore and build inside the boundaries of your design.

He doesn’t micromanage every moment.

Instead, He invites maturity:

“What do you see Me doing?”
“Now go do the same.”

That’s co-creation.

That’s stewardship.

That’s learning how to walk with Holy Spirit in business.

What’s Actually Written on Your Scroll?

Your destiny scroll contains:

• Your mandate

• Your mission

• Your vision

• Your identity

• Your territory

• Your assignment

• Your impact

• The people you are called to serve

• The blueprint for how you were designed to function

And no two scrolls are alike because no two people were designed alike.

Final Thoughts

I think this is probably enough for Part 1.

At the very least, I want you to walk away understanding this:

You have a scroll.

God already established intention, design, and purpose before you were born.

And your business is not separate from that destiny. It is deeply connected to it.

So your homework is simple:

Spend time with the Lord and begin asking Him to reveal your Business Destiny Scroll.

Ask Him:

• What did You write about me?

• What am I truly called to build?

• Who am I designed to serve?

• What influence am I meant to reclaim?

Because the blueprint already exists.

I had to have an “emergency” session with one of my clients the other night. She was in the chaos of yet another violation in a pretty gnarly string of them.

• lawsuits

• betrayals

• break-ins

We asked the Lord what is allowing these boundary crossings?

What we heard shocked us…she had not only opened a door for them, she was inviting them in.

A childhood abuse situation led her to make an inner vow, “Bring it on, I’m tough, I can take it.” She was protecting her little sister.

But the “tough girl” stayed. She acted out as a teenager, in college, in her career, and now was still there as a multi-million dollar business owner.

When she tried to break that vow, however, Jesus gave us another revelation. She didn’t trust God with control of her life & business. She held Him on the hook for not protecting her all those decades ago.

She had to ask, “What would it look like to take God off the hook and forgive him?”

I realized we had to give God control one piece at a time for her nervous system to not freak out. So this is an onion we will peel with the Lord as we go along.

She gave the 1st piece to the Lord, and got total relief and freedom. We removed a trigger the enemy kept poking, and played out scenarios until she could confidently say it no longer bothered her to release that control.

We ended the call praising God, joyful and confident for the next day’s court appearance.

So…where are you holding onto control?

I’ve been doing this work with clients for years. One-on-one, it’s a rhythm I know. We drop in, we pull strategy from heaven, we engage with the destiny scroll, and we move. No lengthy setup. No orientation. We just go.

But this? This was a group. And groups are different.

When you’re operating in a group setting, you have to play to the people in the room—and when some of those people haven’t been taught how to operate from their seat in heavenly places, haven’t been shown that “seek first the kingdom” is a literal instruction with practical business implications, you can’t just jump in the car and drive.

You have to stop and say: Okay, first—adjust your seat. Make sure you can reach the gas pedal. Check your mirrors. Put your foot on the brake. Turn the key.

That’s where we were today. And honestly? That’s fine. That’s more than fine. That’s exactly where we needed to be.

The Portal of the Present: Why Now Matters

If you caught the article I published yesterday—The Portal of the Present—you already have some context for what we dug into today.

The big idea: the present moment is the only portal through which you can actually affect change. Not yesterday’s regrets. Not tomorrow’s hypotheticals. Now.

I know what you might be thinking—but wait, don’t we operate outside of time? And yes, actually, we do. That’s not a contradiction.

Jesus endured the cross by fixing his spirit on the joy on the other side of it. He wasn’t staring down the nails; he was looking through them into what was coming. That’s operating outside of linear time—using the future to sustain action in the present.

David did the same thing in reverse. He pulled understanding from a future era of kingdom operation—one that wouldn’t arrive until Christ’s death, hundreds of years later—and applied it to his now. The man was writing psalms that hadn’t technically happened yet.

And this is also, by the way, how inner healing works. We go back with the Lord to where the trauma happened, see the lies that got embedded in us, and receive truth instead. We’re not stuck in the timeline. We’re not prisoners of the past.

But all that is a longer conversation for another day. Let’s get back to the debrief.

Operating from Your Seat—Not from the News Feed

The foundational posture we established today: we are not reacting to the world.

We are not refreshing the headlines and asking, “How do I run my business around this?” We’re not spinning out over algorithms, economic reports, or what the competition just launched.

We are seated in heavenly places. We are kings. We are ambassadors of the kingdom. And we have—this is the part that still blows my mind—access to the mind of Christ.

“Whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven.” So let’s bind our minds to His mind. It’s not that we hit His level—obviously not—but it’s certainly better than leaving ourselves to wander alone. What would you rather have steering your business decisions? The anxiety spiral? Or the mind of Christ?

I’ll take column B every time.

Working with Angels (not Commanding Them)

One of our pastors in the group asked a question that I suspect a lot of people have but don’t know how to ask: How do I actually work with angels? Are we commanding them? Is that a thing?

Great question. Loaded question. Here’s where I landed.

We are co-laborers with angels, not commanders. Think of it like being on a construction crew. You see a hammer sliding off a ledge, and you shout to your buddy, “Pete—grab that!” You’re not issuing a military order. You’re working together toward the same goal.

That said, we’re definitely not at the judging-angels stage either. (I am personally very comfortable saying I am not there yet. Are you? Cool. Let’s keep going.)

The bigger guardrail—and this matters enormously—is that we never venture into the heavenly realms without Jesus. Not a little bit without Jesus. Not mostly with Jesus and a little solo spiritual tourism. Only with Jesus, always.

This is the line between what we do and what the New Age, witchcraft, and occult practices do—astral travel, releasing the soul into the second heaven, all of that. We don’t do that. Jesus is the gate. He is the only door. He tore the veil from top to bottom so that we could come through, with Him. Grab the tassels of His robe and don’t let go.

Now. When I’m in conversation with Jesus and I need something set up in the spirit—let’s say I need some spiritual billboards put up, some heavenly fireworks over a calendar date to draw the right people to the right content at the right moment—I ask Jesus to deploy the angels for that. I’m not a great seer. I’m more of a perceiver. So I’ll just sense: Oh. He just released them to go do that thing.

And then, sometimes, the angels need our voice before they can move. We see this in Daniel. He prayed and released Gabriel—and Gabriel had to fight his way through 21 days of spiritual warfare before he could arrive. I’m obviously painting with a broad brush here, but picture Gabriel’s wing getting clipped in battle, the enemy taking him captive, Michael having to come in with the full cavalry to break everyone out and regroup... and finally Gabriel makes it to Daniel.

That stuff didn’t stop at the cross. The spiritual battle is real, it is active, and it is very much ongoing.

Why Your Business Is an Act of War

Here’s the part that hits differently when you really sit with it.

When you start a kingdom business, you are declaring war on the enemy. Not metaphorically. Spiritually and strategically.

Why? Because you are taking territory.

You are going into a space where people are either being served poorly or not being served at all—spinning in their problems, stuck in the mess—and you are showing up with the solution you were designed and created to bring. That is an occupation of enemy ground. He does not want you there.

So don’t be surprised when it’s hard. That’s not a sign you missed your calling. That’s often a sign you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be.

Three Ways We Bring Heaven to Earth Through Business

We wrapped up today’s session with this framework, and it’s worth planting a flag here:

1. Take the territory. Claim the problem you solve. Not just the solution you bring—the specific problem. Know it. Articulate it. This is the ground you’re occupying in the Kingdom’s name.

2. Carry His frequency. Every transaction, every interaction, every email, every relationship—you are being His hands and feet. You might be the only Bible some people ever read. Let that land. The culture inside your business is itself a ministry.

3. Sow the profits back. When the business grows, the returns go to building more kingdom—your church, Kingdom organizations, other business owners who need seed capital to get started. The business is a vehicle. The destination is the Kingdom.

My Big Takeaway as the Navigator

I’m going to have to teach and train until I build up a library of training people can go through on their own.

That’s it. That’s the lesson. Not because the people aren’t capable—they absolutely are—but because much of this is genuinely new territory. Not a lot of people are doing this in the marketplace. And that means we have to build the foundation before we build the house.

Are you running your business like a news cycle? Whatever is in your face at the moment is what gets your time and attention, and then forgotten about tomorrow in favor of the “fire de jeur”.

I saw that management style time and time…and time again when I was in corporate—regardless of what company, or even the government. (Well…especially the government.) It’s also fairly prevalent with the entrepreneurs I’ve coached, myself included.

That’s not Kingdom business.

That’s not operating from Heaven—from God’s perspective.

Your business has a destiny. A plan and purpose custom tailored to you and those you are called to serve by the Creator of the universe. Psalm 116:39 says all your days were written in His book before you were even formed. Ephesians 2:10 states that believers are God’s workmanship created for good works He prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Our Heavenly Father wants to reveal your destiny to you. Jeremiah 33:3 says Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know. And my favorite passage about my privilege as a king, Proverbs 25:2, states it’s our glory to search out a matter that has been concealed.

The Pull of Culture

Social media and what passes for news these days is designed to distract us, and pull us into conversations and rabbit holes that tickle the ears. It’s literally programming us for short term hits of dopamine, and non-systematic or non-sequential thinking.

We get programmed for:

• Crisis-based addiction to the urgent

• Superficial, emotion-based conversations

• Stressed out default mode

And the most insidious, loathsome and dangerous:

• Sound bites without context that allow us to make anything mean whatever we want. We make them fit whatever construct we’ve already framed up by our belief system.

These are dream killers and destiny destroyers.

Yet we try to operate a business from, or out of this paradigm.

We’re called to be in the world, but not of it.

Modern business culture trains us to obsess over immediacy. Everything is urgent. Everything is breaking. Everything requires instant attention. Notifications buzz like tiny digital circus barkers announcing new FOMO opportunities to lose your peace.

But when you spend too long reacting to immediate needs, daily fires, and constant pressure, your world slowly loses its prophetic true north. You stop leading from vision and start leading from survival. Your business becomes less about destiny and more about maintenance.

And maintenance is sneaky.

It disguises itself as responsibility. We think we’re doing a good job when we solve problems.

Problem solving is not forging your future.

Doors Don’t Open in the Future - They Open in the Past

The life you are currently living was once the future version of your prayers, decisions, beliefs, habits, and vision. Which means the future you will inhabit next year is quietly being built right now through what you choose to prioritize today.

Your harvest today is coming from the seeds you planted a year ago.

So if you don’t like what you see when you look around you, the answer isn’t a new sumthin’ sumthin’ gadget out there. It’s not even a “move of God” you’ve been prophesied to get. Waiting for something out there to shift so you can finally step into your destiny is how a decade quietly slips behind you.

And most Kingdom CEOs don’t realize they’re operating by this external locus of control paradigm until exhaustion forces them to finally ask a deeper question:

Am I actually building from destiny… or just reacting to daily pressure?

I was listening to Darren Stott talk recently about the tyranny of the urgent, and how so many believers become trapped in the frustrations of the present to the point that they completely neglect the future God intended for them.

He said, “Forsaking the future is the reason why many Christians will never actually step into the land God promised and ordained for them.”

Whoa.

I hadn’t considered that my allowing distractions and whack-a-mole business practices are literally FORSAKING the promises of God.

Forsaking: to renounce or turn away from entirely, according to Meriam-Webster.

…the PROMISES of God, ya-all!!

Who in their right mind would say no thank you, I’ll pass?

But I guess that’s the crux of the matter, isn’t it? We’re NOT IN our right mind because of the programming of culture, the food we eat, the frequency-based mind control, and… (oh boy…I’d better get back on track.)

Okay, less conspiratorial influences: how about regret, shame, disappointment, frustration, fear, doubt…

These shape our inner world and what meaning we assign to things. They literally build barriers–walls and chutes that channel our thoughts and subsequent behaviors into pre-programmed outcomes.

So when we realize that we created our today by the thoughts and actions of yesterday, even more regret, shame, guilt and disappointment gets piled on. We realized we missed opportunities, misread signs, miss-allocated our time, talent and treasure.

Vicious cycle.

But you can be a cycle-breaker!!

We can’t build on a solid foundation without first breaking off those limiting beliefs born of past traumas that have become the crazy glue holding us captive in “stuckistan”.

I digress. Back to you being victorious. ;-)

“His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence.”
2 Peter 1:3

You already have everything you need.

The Kingdom of God is within you. So when we seek first the Kingdom and His righteousness–the right/true way to contextualize things–all the material needs of life and business will be added.

You have a supernatural identity and destiny to fulfill a dream God put in you and designed you to fulfill.

Your View Through the Portal Shapes Destiny

Have you ever started the morning feeling aligned with God, focused on vision, connected to purpose… and fifteen minutes later be spiraling because someone half your age is apparently making eight million dollars a month selling a course called “Quantum Funnel Wealth Secrets” while filming TikToks in a rented Lamborghini.

Where did I “miss God”??

JK. Surely you’ve never thought that. But maybe you know someone who has.

Come back to your morning. The bible says that His mercies, his blessings, are new every morning. The sorrow may last for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

“In the morning I will present my prayer to you and eagerly watch.” Ps 5:3

So the threshold—the portal—of the morning is your opportunity to eagerly peer through and see the vision of your destiny that you co-dreamed with God, or you can look through the portal of “groundhog day” distraction where it’s the same hamster wheel as yesterday.

The portal you choose to view your present through matters.

Because you can only affect change in THIS moment. This is your gateway to the vision of your future—the mystery of the destiny you’re meant to seek out and pursue.

It is the doorway between who you were and who you are becoming.

When you lose sight of that, you start treating every temporary frustration like a permanent reality. Revenue dips feel catastrophic. Delays feel deeply personal. Resistance feels like failure instead of process.

But leaders who maintain a destiny perspective interpret pressure differently.

They understand that today is the only effectual tool of preparation we have.

They realize God is not keeping your destiny from them, He’s keeping it FOR them. He is shaping their capacity for the assignment attached to their future. Which means some of the tension you are experiencing right now is not evidence that you are off track. It may actually be evidence that you are being enlarged, called into something deeper, bigger, more impactful for His Kingdom and glory.

That changes how you endure difficulty.

It also changes how you make decisions.

Because once you reconnect with long-range Kingdom vision, you stop living emotionally chained to daily outcomes. You stop panicking every time something slows down. You stop needing constant external proof that everything is working.

You begin building like someone who actually believes God knows the end from the beginning.

That is a completely different posture.

That is how I prefer to operate my business, and that is how I help my clients operate theirs. (Am I perfect? Pffffffft no. :-P But I understand the difference, and get back into Heaven’s flow asap.)

Don’t you just hate it when activity no longer equals progress. You’re praying, working hard, and doing what you believe are the right things, yet momentum stalls, clarity blurs, and frustration quietly takes the place of faith. For Christian business owners, this tension carries a unique weight.

When growth slows or resistance increases, the question is rarely just what is broken. It becomes why. Is this opposition spiritual? Is the structure misaligned? Am I moving outside of God’s design—or simply exhausted?

In our conversation, my friend and mentor, Dan Duval gave language to something many leaders sense but struggle to articulate: sometimes the issue is not strategy, effort, or even prayer intensity—it is foundation. And until foundations are addressed, no amount of execution can produce fruit that lasts.

When effort isn’t the problem

Most CEOs I work with are not defeated. They are uncertain. Uncertain whether their business is spiritually covered, whether inherited systems are quietly undermining their leadership, or whether their prayers are actually producing movement. This kind of uncertainty is dangerous not because it looks dramatic, but because it erodes confidence over time.

As Dan said plainly during our conversation, “If the foundations are broken, you have a big problem.” That statement is not condemnation—it is clarity. Scripture itself treats foundations as non‑negotiable. You can build quickly, add layers, and even produce visible success, but if what you are building on is compromised, instability is inevitable.

The hidden cost of compromised structures

One of the most important reframes Dan offered applies directly to business leadership:

“People often inherit something built on faulty foundations—and then wonder why new efforts don’t fix old problems.”

Many leaders step into companies that were birthed in fear and doubt, and shaped by conflict, compromise, or reactionary decisions. Those origins do not disappear simply because the growing pains are over, or even if leadership changes.

A business can be profitable and still be misaligned. Growth does not automatically equal health. Forward motion does not guarantee forward integrity. Transformation begins when leaders stop asking how to push harder and start asking what they are actually building on. Without that examination, even well‑intentioned expansion multiplies instability.

Agreement precedes authority

Another core theme from our conversation was agreement. Not superficial unity or enforced compliance, but spiritual alignment within leadership and culture. Dan emphasized that unresolved division—especially when tolerated because someone performs well—creates friction in the spirit long before it creates visible dysfunction in the organization.

In Scripture, authority is tied to agreement. Where unity exists, authority flows. Where division is excused, authority leaks. This is not symbolic language; it plays out practically in delayed decisions, misaligned teams, stalled innovation, and leaders who feel like they are pushing uphill no matter how capable they are.

Why prayer sometimes feels ineffective

Many Christian leaders respond to pressure by increasing prayer volume, yet remain frustrated by the lack of tangible change. Dan addressed this directly, explaining that prayer often lacks traction not because God is silent, but because leaders pray generally where specificity is required.

During his own ministry work, Dan developed structured prayer “keys”—intentional frameworks that target foundations, agreements, and authority directly. These are not mystical shortcuts and do not require special spiritual perception. They are disciplined, deliberate approaches that allow leaders to engage prayer with clarity instead of emotional urgency. As he explained, when areas were addressed intentionally, issues began resolving that had previously seemed unrelated.

Alongside other tools in my toolkit, I have used Dan’s teaching and prayer strategies in my “businesstry” to get breakthrough for my clients for years. I’m very happy to report, they produce real fruit!

The promise of realignment

When foundations are cleaned, agreements are restored, and authority is clarified, leaders experience measurable change. Confusion lifts. Resistance loses leverage. Growth becomes sustainable rather than draining. Faith no longer competes with responsibility—it informs it.

This work is not about fighting darkness harder. It is about building correctly.

You do not need to work harder to produce fruit. You need to build from truth. God is far more interested in what will last than in what looks impressive in the present moment.

Let’s truth-tell.

You can love God, pray over your business, and still open your laptop on Monday like, “Alright Lord… what are we dealing with today?”

Not because everything is broken, your inbox is on fire and your clients are rioting. Just because everything feels… heavier, slower, more cumbersome than it should.

You’re doing the work.
Things are working-ish.
But they’re not flowing in the abundance Jesus promised.

And you’re just not at ease. (I’ve seen so much about “making your nervous system feel safe” lately…but I digress.)

If that’s you, you’re not crazy, and you’re not alone.

You’re just bumping into a boundary most business owners don’t know how to talk about. (Like hitting the wall of the set in The Truman Show.)

Something isn’t right.

When It Feels Heavier Than It Should

You have weeks where everything clicks.
Then weeks where it’s like your business went on a silent retreat without telling you.

Leads show up… but don’t convert.
Opportunities open… but don’t close.
You work harder… and somehow the results don’t get the memo.

So naturally, you do what high-capacity people do:
You try to fix it.

You tweak strategy.
You double down on focus.
You pray harder.
You ask God if you missed something.
You open a Google Doc titled “New Plan (Final. This Time For Real).”

And that may uptick for a minute…

Until it doesn’t.

Because eventually, you hit a wall where more effort stops producing better results.

And that’s usually where frustration turns into quiet doubt.

The Problem Isn’t Your Strategy. It’s Your Come-From.

At a certain level, the issue is not what you’re doing.

It’s where you’re doing it from.

You can have a solid offer, a clear niche, a good marketing plan, and a real relationship with God… and still experience friction if your internal operating system is off.

That’s when business starts to feel like:

• pushing a shopping cart with one stuck wheel

• or running a race in sand

• or trying to hear God clearly while also refreshing your Stripe dashboard every 12 seconds

Technically functional. Emotionally exhausting.

There are two ways to run your business:

You can operate from the middle of the battlefield—reacting, adjusting, managing everything in real time.

Or…

You can govern from your seat—leading from clarity, authority, and alignment.

Both can produce income.

Only one produces peace.

Identity Isn’t a Cute Concept. It’s Infrastructure.

In Christian spaces, we’ve gotten pretty good at talking about identity. We’ve been less great at building on it.

Because if you are a Son, a King, and a Priest—that’s not just poetic language.

That’s your operating system.

And when that system is even slightly off, everything else starts glitching.

A Son doesn’t wake up wondering if provision is going to show up this week like a surprise guest.
A King doesn’t treat outcomes like they’re optional suggestions.
A Priest doesn’t disconnect from God all week and then try to “tap back in” during Sunday worship.

But when the truth of your identity in Christ isn’t fully anchored in His Kingdom, you can still build a business. It just feels like you’re carrying it… instead of stewarding it.

And over time, that weight adds up.

Why Your Come-From is Such a Big Deal

Your business will always reflect what you actually believe.

About yourself,
About your business,
Even about God, and His capacity or willingness to resource and protect you.

If part of you expects instability, you’ll (subtly) build for it.
If part of you believes it all depends on you, you’ll structure your business like a one-person rescue mission—even while asking God for help.

This is why inner healing / foundational clean up isn’t optional at this level.

It’s not a side journey.
It’s structural work.

There’s no shame in asking for help. WE ALL NEED IT! We can’t get to the root of issues without another set of eyes to triangulate where that root is.

I call this BREAKTHROUGH coaching. And everytime I do this with my clients, Jesus shows up and FREEDOM breaks out!

Lies about worth, value or capacity are demolished.
Fear of taking risks, trusting God, and going after BIG things is brought to heel.

Truth wins.

Hello there.
I hope all systems are go.

This is my very first Substack Live. I’m used to doing lives on other channels, but this is my first Substack. So here I am.

I’m Bralynn Newby, in case you are new to me, since several of you are on Substack. I have Spirit-Centered Business, and I was just thinking about something in church today.

It’s a beautiful Sunday afternoon here in North Carolina. It’s one of these spring days where it’s chilly at night and not too hot during the day, so it’s just a beautiful day. I thought, you know, I’m just going to do it. I’m just going to go live.

My coach, Kristin Dronchi—if you need anything about Substack, go to Kristin because she’s amazing. I hear her voice in my ear saying, “Go live. Just go live.”

So I want to talk to you about labels. As I was preparing and trying to figure out the technology of how to go live, the Lord brought this vision back to me that He gave me when I started Spirit-Centered Business in 2014.

I had already been business coaching for a couple of years and teaching people how to create their online business, getting people to the top of Google and all the things you did back then. At that time, the Lord showed me this amazing picture.

Those of you who are my age will remember this, but you young ones probably won’t. Back when we had the World Trade Center in New York and then 9/11 happened, right after that event they put these lights in the places of the towers. They shot up into the night, and it was so majestic. These two light beams were powerful and unmistakable. You saw them for miles and miles around. They were crazy big and crazy bright.

The Lord showed me that the labels we wear and the lies about our identity are like filter paper. I’m looking out the window at my car—I have the windows tinted, and what He showed me was that each of those labels and lies we believe are like that tint paper. If you’ve ever worked with it, it’s static and clingy.

We are these amazing, huge, beautiful light beams that shoot up into the sky and can be seen forever. We are light beings. The Lord says that inside Jesus—and I think this is in the beginning of John, where it says the Word was with God—it says, “In Him were the lights of men.”

So we were lights before the beginning. Our spirit being was light. He says we are fire. We are these light beings, and the lies we believe about ourselves, or the labels we’ve been called—“You’re lower class,” “You’re not smart,” “You’re not pretty,” “You’re not athletic enough,” “You’re not musical enough”—all of those things we get when we’re kids.

We get categorized and pigeonholed into places with all of these labels. Those labels are like that tint paper or filter paper that sticks to us. They cling to our light beam, so it slowly gets dimmer and dimmer. We don’t even know who we are. We don’t know that we are majestic, that we are royal, that we are sons of God. We were made in His image. We have authority. That’s our true identity.

But because of those labels sticking to us throughout our life, we start looking quite different than the original design the Lord had for our identity.

One of the things I do with my clients is help them first identify what that label or false belief system is. Typically, you don’t go around thinking, “Oh, I have a false belief system.” No—it shows up in your business. It shows up in your marketing. It shows up in attracting the wrong people. It shows up in cycles going around and happening again.

Those are the kinds of things we look at—patterns and cycles. Then we take it to Jesus and say, “Jesus, what do we need to know about this, and what do we need to do about this?”

That’s the kind of work I do with my clients. I recently had that masterclass where we had seven countries represented. I’ll do another video with a testimony that I shouted out in a note—Jean Pack. She was amazing and gave a great testimony of what that class meant to her.

But here’s the point. I’m introducing Breakthrough and Build. It’s literally breakthrough and build. We break through all of those labels, those false identities, the things holding you back either in yourself or in your business.

We find cracks in the identity of the business all the time. You wouldn’t think so, but it’s not called an entity for no reason. Your business is a living, breathing entity. We see this in the Bible when the Lord breathes life into nations and cities.

So Breakthrough and Build removes those labels and false beliefs about your identity—personal, family, bloodline, or business. That’s the breakthrough. The build is looking at the blueprint.

This is my book, Discover Your Business Destiny. I’m all about destiny and blueprint—what the Lord has already shown you about your business, what’s already written in the heavenly realms, so you can build from His blueprint and His plan.

I’ll teach you how to do it, and then we’ll actually do it. This is an implementation lab. You don’t need more information—you need to do the thing. Do what God said. Look at what Father says about it, then do the strategy, the solution, the tactic, make the call—whatever the next step is.

That’s what we do in Breakthrough and Build. That masterclass I just did—Why Praying Harder Hasn’t Worked—is really about the three keys to your strategic advantage, your competitive advantage as a Christian business owner. People of the world don’t have this advantage like we do.

If you have generational things going on in your bloodline—and we’re talking about not only your DNA, but also the epigenetics, the spiritual DNA—the things that affect your decision-making and the way that you respond to situations, even the entrepreneurial spirit, the get-up-and-go to build something that the Lord is calling you to build.

If there have been curses placed against the anointing and the ability in the bloodline—which can happen—a lot of us have Freemasonry or other occult practices in our bloodline, and we don’t know what our ancestors did. And those things, the agreements that they made, if they’re never canceled, they just go on and on.

The Bible says to the third and fourth generation. Well, the thing is that the next generation does it again, or they still agree with it. And so that third and fourth generation keeps rolling forward and keeps rolling forward.

So it’s really important to break off bloodline curses, especially in business, especially around money—around that poverty mindset, or around the spirit of mammon. If you’ve got pride and you’ve got things that are all about building your own empire rather than building what the Lord wants you to build, those kinds of bloodline curses can really wreak havoc on your ability to do what the Lord is calling you to do.

And believe me, when we break off bloodline curses, we have seen amazing results. Let me tell you about one. I wrote about this in my book, Discover Your Business Destiny. (You can get it on Amazon or my website, spiritcenteredbusiness.com).

Here’s the testimony what I want to share with you. A client was striving, and toiling and everything was just so much struggle—and it wasn’t really producing fruit. And so we asked, “Okay, Lord, what’s in the way?”

We found out that there was actually an agreement that his ancestors, many, many generations before had made, that they would always have toil and that someone else would take the harvest. Now, the agreement—we broke the agreement on both sides: what they received for that agreement, and also the agreement itself.

After we broke that off, the Lord said, “Okay, now the harvest can come into your barns.” And we said, “Well, what does that mean?” Because he’s not a farmer. And the Lord said He will increase the clients that he would have.

Eight minutes, you guys.

Eight minutes later, he got a call that doubled the client order for the next month!

…And his clients are like PepsiCo.
(We’re not talking nickels & dimes here…)

There is a particular kind of frustration that rarely gets named out loud.

It doesn’t show up in dashboards or P&Ls. It isn’t obvious in meetings or performance reviews. From the outside, everything appears intact—sometimes even impressive. The business is functioning. Revenue is present. Decisions are being made and executed.

And yet, internally, something feels… off.

Not broken. Not failing. Just slightly out of alignment in a way that is difficult to articulate, and even harder to correct.

Most leaders at your level have already done the things they were taught to do. You’ve committed your business to God in a meaningful way. You pray. You seek His direction. You make decisions with intention, often choosing integrity when it would be easier—or more profitable—not to.

You have carried the responsibility of your Kingdom calling with seriousness. You have stayed the course when it would have been easier to pivot. You have trusted the Lord when it would have felt “safer” to take control.

And still, the outcomes don’t always reflect that alignment.

Growth comes, but not consistently. Momentum builds, then dissipates without clear cause. Opportunities appear, but don’t always convert. Progress requires more energy than it should.

Over time, the questions surface—not dramatically, but persistently:

“Did I miss God on this?”
”Why does it seem like compromise produces faster results than obedience?”

…and the question that breaks my heart, and brings tears to even my hardest-driving top producing clients:

Why do I feel so alone in this, like no one understands the
spiritual disconnect AND the business pressure?

These are not questions of failure. They are signals of misalignment.

And misalignment, when it persists, creates friction, and is rarely random.

When More Effort Stops Working

High performers have a default response to friction: they lean in.

They refine strategy.
They increase focus.
They extend capacity.

Spiritually, they do the same. They pray more intentionally. They seek greater clarity. They pray longer, harder…even louder. 😉

But eventually, a different pattern begins to emerge. Effort continues to increase, yet the return on that effort begins to diminish. Progress becomes uneven. Wins feel harder to secure. Hope deferred sets in, and prayer dwindles again.

What makes this especially difficult to navigate is that it doesn’t register as outright failure. The business still moves. There is enough success to justify continued effort, but not enough to create stability or ease.

So the assumption becomes internal.

There must be something I’m missing.
Something I need to improve.
Something I need to fix.

But at a certain level, that assumption stops being accurate.

Because it is entirely possible to be addressing the right objectives… from the wrong place.

And when that happens, progress becomes expensive. Decisions carry more weight than they should. Resistance lingers longer than it makes sense. Growth, instead of compounding, begins to cycle.

Not because of a lack of effort—but because of where that effort is being generated from.

The Distinction That Rarely Gets Taught

In most Christian business environments, the emphasis is clear: involve God, honor Him, seek His guidance.

These are essential foundations. But for leaders carrying significant responsibility, they are often incomplete in practice.

There is a distinction that is rarely articulated, yet it changes everything about how a Kingdom business differs from a business led by a Christian. It is the difference between praying to God… and recognizing the Kingly position and authority He gave you to actively take and steward territory for His Kingdom.

Without that shift, leadership remains subtly reactive. You consult God, you pray over decisions, and you seek direction—but your underlying identity matrix does not fundamentally change.

And who you believe you are matters more than most people realize.

Because when belief systems remain the same, patterns tend to remain the same as well—no matter how much effort is applied on top of them.

I see this identity disconnect telegraphed through the business structure time after time.

The Pattern Beneath the Performance

When this pattern is examined closely, a different picture begins to emerge.

The issue is not disconnection from God.
It is not a lack of discipline.
It is not even a limitation in capability.

It is the result of operating from an inner structure that was never designed to support the level of leadership now required.

Internally, there are often unexamined assumptions—beliefs about worth, capacity, and even legitimacy that quietly shape decisions. Externally, there are dynamics that have been tolerated or misinterpreted, not out of neglect, but out of an incomplete perspective.

Strategically, many decisions are made from a vantage point that is too close to immediate pressures, limiting the ability to see clearly or act decisively…like trying to strategize from the battlefield.

Truth be told, we often operate out of our soul without giving our spiritual connection to Yahweh—our infinite Source of all innovation and solutions—a second thought.

So we unwittingly create a system that relies on our effort, shuts out the miraculous, and our “Kingdom” business ends up looking like any other worldly business.

What Shifts When Alignment Is Restored

When these underlying dynamics begin to align, the change may not be dramatic in appearance—but it is unmistakable in effect.

Decisions become cleaner.
Resistance begins to resolve.
Opportunities open up with greater consistency.

What once required force begins to respond to a higher level of governance.

The external environment has not necessarily changed. The market is still the market. The economy is still the economy.

But the way the business interacts with those conditions is different.

Your effort is no longer compensating for unseen friction. You are able to apply it with precision, and it produces a more reliable return.

This is where growth begins to stabilize—not because it is being driven harder, but because it is being supported correctly.

One Case Study Out of Hundreds

Let me tell you about Matt. He knew he needed to work with me, but waited. Maybe he knew I didn’t just coach on KPI’s, but actually got to the root of what’s going on in a business…which meant I would go after mindset—his identity.

Sure enough, in that very first trial session, before he committed to our weekly meetings (now going on a year to date) he laid out all the challenges going on in the business and we discussed his goals and vision. Then we asked Jesus what He wanted to work on with Matt. Perfectionism. Great–that comes up a lot, let’s break that off!

Well, the root ended up to be generational, so we did the work to forgive and apply the blood of Jesus in the heavenly courtroom. The legal right the enemy had to whisper, “It’s not good enough. You’re not good enough. You’ll never be good enough,” was dissolved. We replaced those lies with truth and asked the Lord to rewire his neural pathways according to his original design. We reset the timeline as if it never were, and reset the bloodline so everyone could receive the freedom Christ died to give them.

Three weeks later he said he HAD to work with me regularly. In those three weeks:

• He was more productive - getting more done than he usually did in three months.

• He saw undeniable favor and open doors

• He found exactly what he was looking for at bargain prices

• He received payments and shipments more quickly than ever before
  

• AND…all of the pain and inflammation of arthritis DISAPPEARED!!

Yay God!!

I see this all the time. Fix the roots of the identity and authority pillars, and the business gets breakthrough too.

The Framework Most Leaders Only Partially Apply

If you’ve been around the block a time or two, you’ve probably encountered the Tony Robbins, or Joe Dispenza, or “name your favorite guru” personal development training. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’ve done them all too. And they work to a degree. I even worked with a “positive psychologist” that was fun (and painful).

Once I understood that you can’t have a mixture of New Age with Christianity, and that their knowledge was either soul-driven, or drawing healing energy from the second heaven, rather than Father’s Kingdom in third heaven, I backed off.

But even in the Christian “self-help” like John Maxwell, Tamara Lowe, or Pedro Adao…something was still missing.

My discovery of the heavenly perspective was a long, drawn out process, but yours doesn’t have to be. Holy Spirit showed me this pillar, and I want to share the entire framework with you in my free masterclass:
